Hunting Wild Boar Across the World—Contemporary Issues and Challenges

Thorsten Gieser will present a talk at the Centre for Northeast Asian Studies, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, on December 10, 2024. The lecture, titled Hunting Wild Boar Across the World: Contemporary Issues and Challenges, will explore global perspectives on boar hunting. Drawing on insights from the forthcoming book Chasing Wild Pigs: Towards an Anthropology of Hunting (Helsinki University Press), Thorsten will discuss the complex social, ecological, and cultural dynamics surrounding this practice.
